Three-Tier
Messaging Architecture

CommuniTextTM
uses a three-tier architecture for
maximum flexibility and scalability.
In addition, it is designed to run
entirely within your own network, as illustrated in the
following schematic:

The first tier
is the set of user's PCs, which connect to the CommuniText
server (the second tier) via TCP/IP. The final tier is an
enterprise-class database which stores all transaction and
message information for future retrieval. This
architecture offers numerous benefits and features - not
least the security that derives from a completely
self-contained system.
For sending SMS/Text
messages, the link to the mobile networks can be provided in
one of two ways (i) using a GSM modem or mobile phone
connected to the server via the serial port or (ii) by an
http connection to the Exmos messaging portal, which then
forwards the messages to the mobile networks.
