CommuniTextTM
Benefits

The
use of CommuniTextTM
for PC-to-PC
Instant Messaging and PC-Mobile
Phone Messaging provides several
important advantages over other systems:
- Security
- Data
Management
-
Extensibility
- Ability to
add any contact type
- Better
control over messaging costs
- Simplified
Licencing
Security

There are two areas of
security where CommuniText scores over standard free messaging
products. The first is that there is no need to send your
traffic outside the organisation, since the CommuniText server
sits on your internal network. This immediately leads to the
second advantage – i.e. users cannot automatically communicate
directly with other messaging users who are not part of your
organisation. Any external communication required is carried out
through a collaboration server that is controlled by you, rather
than a third-party.
Data Management

By
having the server in-house, you have complete control over all
associated data, such as contact information and message logs.
Extensibility

CommuniText is a powerful
communications application that is built on the Exmos Mobile
Messaging Platform (EMMP). The EMMP provides us with a flexible
and powerful base on which we have built a number of products,
covering various vertical markets. Here at Exmos we can provide
powerful custom solutions built on the EMMP,
using a range of mobile client devices besides SMS phones.
Contact
Types

Another key advantage is
that mobile contacts do not need to be members of the system.
This contrasts with, say, MSN where all users and contacts must
have a current MS Passport. If, for example,
you are using PC-phone messaging to manage large numbers of
external contractors, the requirement for Passport accounts
would be completely impractical.
Messaging Costs

At Exmos, we don’t try and
lock you into high-cost messaging contracts – all messaging is
under your control. Nowadays it’s possible to get SMS messages
for as little as £0.02 with certain contracts – a saving of
£0.08 over the typical charges with other mobile messaging
tools.
Simplified
Licencing

CommuniTextTM allows you to avoid
expending vital resources tracking licences, since it comes in
two basic versions - the standard version allowing a maximum of
50 connected users and the enterprise version for users greater
than 50. The difference between the two is in architecture - you
never need to count licences.
