for OutlookTM Features
CommuniText™
for Outlook™ embeds seamlessly into Microsoft OutlookTM,
including integration of the properties page for configuration. Although integrated into Outlook, it does NOT use email to send the SMS messages. Instead, CommuniText™ for Outlook™ uses the same protocol
(HTTP) as is used by your browser to communicate with the Exmos Messaging Portal. This avoids the latency often encountered with email, where messages can sit on a server for hours before being delivered.
CommuniText™ for Outlook™
is highly secure, with each user being registered on the portal.
In addition, the portal system
can be configured to check the source
of each incoming
message, using a PC hardware identifier initialised
during setup.
Outgoing messages are
registered in Outlook via an acknowledgement email sent by the
portal. This email holds details on the recipient(s) and the
message content.
Incoming messages are
delivered either via email or via the HTTP link to the portal.
